Mirta Kupferminc among the artists selected to represent Argentina at the
Frankfurt Book Fair 2010
The Frankfurt Book Fair in Germany is the world's most important event of its kind. Its origins can be traced back to the 15th century, when Johannes Gutenberg invented the printing press just a few miles away from Frankfurt. As opposed to the Buenos Aires Book Fair, the Frankfurt Book Fair is mainly intended for publishers, literary agents and other players of the publishing industry. The Fair opens to the public at large in the last two days of the total six that it lasts.
The Fair is attended by over 250,000 people every year. About 150,000 of them are members of the publishing industry, while some 12,000 of them are journalists from over 90 countries. Every year, the Fair invites a country to participate as guest of honor in view of its literary history and cultural wealth. The Guest of Honour country is given the opportunity to exhibit its publishing and literary potential, including, in addition to its letters, different cultural, artistic and scientific expressions, as well as its natural beauties and assets in the fields of industry, trade, tourism and sports.
Argentina is this year's Honor Guest Country. The other Argentine artists selected are Yente, Edgardo Antonio Vigo, León Ferrari, Alicia Herrero, Gyula Kosice, Estela Pereda, Margarita Paksa, Edith Matzen Hirsch and Mónica Goldstein.
Mirta Kupferminc (Buenos Aires, Argentina) explores themes of immigration, exile and cultural identity. Focusing on a personal micro cosmos with the intensity of a miniaturist, she fills her paintings with surprising juxtapositions of color, light, and perspective. Besides her personal exhibitions/installations in Argentina, the USA, Europe and Asia, she is busy lecturing and teaching.

Mirta Kupferminc entre los artistas seleccionados para representar a la Argentina en la
Feria del Libro de Frankfurt 2010
La Feria del Libro de Frankfurt, Alemania, constituye el mayor encuentro de su tipo en el mundo. Su historia se remonta al siglo XV, cuando Johannes Gutenberg inventó la imprenta a pocos kilómetros de dicha ciudad. A diferencia de la Feria del Libro de Buenos Aires, la de Frankfurt está destinada fundamentalmente a editores, agentes literarios y otros actores de la industria editorial. El público en general accede a la Feria los dos últimos días del total de seis que permanece abierta.
Anualmente asisten a la Feria más de 250.000 personas, de las cuales alrededor de 150.000 son miembros de la industria editorial y cerca de 12.000, periodistas de más de 90 países. Cada año la Feria invita a un país a participar como huesped honorario en virtud de su historia literaria y su caudal cultural. El país “Invitado de Honor” tiene la oportunidad de presentar su potencial editorial y literario, incluyendo además de sus letras, diferentes expresiones culturales, artísticas y científicas, así como sus riquezas naturales y su oferta industrial, comercial, turística y deportiva.
Argentina ha sido elegida como 'País Invitado de Honor' para la edición 2010 de la Feria - 6 al 10 de octubre - coincidiendo con la celebración del Bicentenario de la Revolución de Mayo. Los demas artistas Argentinos seleccionados son Yente, Edgardo Antonio Vigo, León Ferrari, Alicia Herrero, Gyula Kosice, Estela Pereda, Margarita Paksa, Edith Matzen Hirsch y Mónica Goldstein.
Mirta Kupferminc (Buenos Aires, Argentina) explora temas de inmigracion, exilio e identidad cultural. Enfocando en su microcosmos personal con la intensidad de un miniaturista, llena sus pinturas con sorpresivas yuxtaposiciones de color, luz, y perspectiva. Ademas de sus exposiciones / instalaciones personales en Argentina, USA, Europa y Asia, ofrece conferencias y actividades docentes a nivel internacional.
